If you’ve spent any amount of time with young children you know they are endlessly curious. Why, how, where, when, what are all heard multiple times a day around here. My four year old has been wondering aloud about the world around her since she could talk - and she’s been talking for as long as I can remember it seems like.
“What’s inside of us?”
“What is under the road?”
“How are mountains made?”
“Why do we have to wash our hands?”
“How do cars work?”
All these questions and more have led us to check out countless books from the library about bodies, machines, germs, the earth, and more. Along the way I’ve become more curious about subjects that I hadn’t given much thought to before. Looking at life through the eyes of a four year old, I’ve realized, is a much more interesting way to live. So many new things to discover. Every day and adventure, even if we never leave our backyard.
For nearly six years I’ve written (sometimes more consistently than others) about plants and gardening on a (soon to be defunct) blog. It was fun to share what I knew about growing plants with others. But recently, thanks in part to my four year old’s curiosity as well as my own growing curiosity about the world around me, I’ve felt the pull to write about other topics that may not fit so nicely in the “home and garden” category. I’ll still write about plants, sure, but less in a “here’s how to grow it” and more in a “here’s something really neat” kind of way.
I can’t promise that I’ll write more consistently here, but I can promise that by subscribing, you’ll never miss a post. So, if you like what you read make sure to hit that subscribe button. And, if you know someone else who might enjoy it, send it to them.
I'm here for the ride!
Yay, Heatha! I can’t wait to read more of your thoughts! This will be great!
